Our Team

Karen is a real estate industry veteran with over 20 years of experience with international companies including AIG and ARCH Capital. Her career spans roles in overall investment, asset and portfolio management as well as investor relationship management across the Asia Pacific region.

Karen received a Bachelor’s Degree (First Honors) in Real Estate and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Finance from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (MHKIS).

Born and raised in the cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong, Karen embodies the endearing qualities that characterized generations of Hong Kong people: authenticity, creativity, and generosity. Housing and its inhabitants have always been matters close to her heart. She aspired to create an innovative residential community, where residents can enjoy personal space and at the same time develop meaningful connections and network with fellow residents.

In 2018, Karen and a group of like-minded industry professionals have established Oootopia to realize her vision. Oootopia has continued to grow, now with locations in Kai Tak, Tai Kok Tsui and Hong Kong West. In 2020, Oootopia was recognized by the prestigious PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

Sunny brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as he takes on the responsibility of managing and directing the day-to-day operations of the business, while also driving the strategic development of the Company. With over 20 years of experience in business development and project management, Sunny has a strong background in overseeing operations within a large conglomerate's project and operations team.

Sunny's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, as well as two master's degrees: one in Business Administration and another in Corporate Finance. This diverse knowledge base equips him with a comprehensive understanding of both technical and business aspects.

Passionate about real estate management, Sunny is determined to create and deliver the best co-living platform in an ever-changing and competitive market. With a strong operational leadership background, he has successfully led teams of over 20 people in a large-scale telecommunications company. His leadership skills extend to deal sourcing and evaluation, enabling him to identify and assess opportunities that align with the Company's strategic goals.

Furthermore, Sunny has experience in engaging with government and statutory authorities within regulated business environments, ensuring compliance and fostering positive relationships. Leveraging his skills in market analysis, he drives informed business growth decisions and played a pivotal role in the restructuring of the entire team at Oootopia, driving organizational change and optimizing team performance.

Sunny's combination of operational leadership, deal sourcing expertise, regulatory knowledge, and market analysis skills make him a valuable asset to the Company. His determination, experience, and passion will play a key role in driving the Company's success in the dynamic and competitive real estate market.
